It has been about 3 weeks since I became a co-owner of the Cavallo Equestrian Center. I want to use this weekly blog to keep those of you who have already contacted us informed of our progress and to enable everyone to stay in touch as we prepare for a Fall Open House… more on that in a future blog ?
When we decided to put the words Equestrian Center into our name, we did so with a vision to provide vaulting, classical dressage and hunter/jumper training. We wanted to model ourselves after a European riding center where horse lovers could experience a range of disciplines under one roof. I am happy and excited to introduce you to our three trainers, Rachel, Lauren and yours truly. See www.cavalloequestriancenter.com/trainers to read a bit about each of us and for more information.
Now, onto one of my not-so-favorite things to do, no less talk about… cleaning! We have been doing a lot of this and we have a lot more to do… but we have made excellent progress bringing the barn up to a standard you and we can be proud of. Power washers recently spent an entire day in the barn cleaning with an eco-friendly cleaner removing what was likely years of accumulated “crud”. We have been doing some repairs, painting and a lot of sweeping. We re-organized one of the tack rooms as well as the feed room.
Doing all this work makes one thirsty and it occurred to us that we did not have a refrigerator anywhere in the barn! So we moved a big refrigerator into the viewing room that can be used by anyone at the facility. Just don’t let our lab Drake do this to your food:
Next week I’ll share some improvements we’ll soon be making to the two indoor riding rings.
